Introduced in mid-1966 as a response to the Pontiac GTO’s success, the Charger was based on the B-body platform shared with the Dodge Coronet but featured a radically different design. Just 15,788 1967 Chargers were produced, laying the groundwork for the wildly successful second-generation model introduced in 1968.
